Socialism IS the Agenda

It's too bad the Obama Admisistration and Democrats in general don't speak the plain truth like Howard Dean does in this 4/5/09 video. I guess it's ok to talk openly to the French about socialism and the left's plan to drive the U.S. deeper into it. Now, I know there are many who voted for this president who wish they could have thier vote back. Hopefully we can hang on and make it to the mid-term elections when we can regain enough seats to slow down the socialism jet. I would say socialism train but we're moving at warp speed. Lefties, do yourself and your country a favor, help us defeat health care, cap and tax, and everything else this administration is attempting to do.

  1. The introduction to the video leads one to believe that you don't agree or are concerned with the message. And the message is:

    1. The next generation is assuming leadership within our society and for them, race is not a big issue. They've grown up in a multi cultural, multi values environment.

    2. Man is more than an economic being. Yes, capitalism is part of our nature, but so is the need for community and meaning beyond work life. We recognize that our nation is a community, not just a collection of individuals.

    3. Ideas are important. Thoughts and ideas shape policy and action. Thinking, discussion, and debate should not be relegated to election cycle events.

I doubt that you would disagree with any of the three points made by Mr Dean.

I will fault Mr Dean for incorrect language use. In discussing an increased social awareness, growing understanding that we are living in a community rather than in isolation, he used the term socialism. I greatly doubt that he was tossing in a random endorsement of marxist theory. Especially when he began the conversation with strong endorsement of capitalism being core to our human nature.

So I fail to see the supporting argument for the conclusion that we should not try to reign in health care costs, that we should not use market forces to reduce environmental damage, and that we should generally obstruct any attempt to address the issues that impact our community.

There may be good reason for pursuing the advocated path, but the case has not been made.
